Microsoft Paint is a default image editor on every Microsoft Windows. This apps just can do simple editor but for me it really useful because I like to use it as a place to paste screenshoot if I provide some tips or tutorial.

Maybe you can use a better screenshot tool and image editot for better performance but I think combine printscreen from keyboard and Microsoft Paint is more than enough.

But there is a little problem in Microsoft Paint because the default save type is PNG file. For an image on this website I prefer to use JPEG file because smaller size than PNG file that suitable for internet image.

I think it doesn’t matter if you just edit two or three file to change a save file to JPG but when you do it massively and daily you will know that you want to change it.

Actually you can’t change it but you can trick it and how to trick it? Open your Paint and click main menu and dig Save as and right click on JPEG file and click Add to Quick Access Toolbar.

Change Microsoft Paint’s Default Save Type

Now you will have save as JPEG menu tool on the ribbon menu and surely you will save a few step than normal way.

Paint's default save type JPEG

So if you create a new image and want to save it as JPEG file just click save as JPEG menu from the ribbon. Actually this trick doesn’t change Paint’s default save type but it has similar effect. Enjoy it!
